We are looking for help with publicity for our 2024 open studios event…
Brockley Open Studios is growing and for our 2024 event over 50 artists will be welcoming the public into their studios and homes to show their latest work. A record number.
We want to improve our marketing and are looking for help developing and placing publicity in the run up to our July Open Studios weekend.
If you have some ideas and are interested in helping the team support our local creative community drop us a line.
Email brockleyopen@gmail.com to find out more...
We are a small friendly team and you don't need to be an artist to become involved in our organisation. Take a look at our website to learn about our history and what we do. Some marketing/design experience and an interest in the visual arts would be great. We are run by volunteers but there may be a small budget for remuneration.

Exhibition Open Call - A New Focus: Playful
We are very excited to announce that we have hired the Pop Up Shop at Brockley Cross for a second curated exhibition 26 June - 2 July 2023 for 3-4 artists.
Brockley Open Studios is partly subsidising the hire of the venue and will promote the exhibition. The exhibition will run concurrently with the Brockley Open Studios weekend and benefit from co-ordinated publicity and visitor footfall.
Curatorial theme
A New Focus: Playful
An exhibition that explores the role of play and experimentation in the creative process; where the artists share a belief or trust in the making process as an enquiry, a delight in discovery, 'what if' and 'how about' rather than a straight line towards final outcome. The objects selected may demonstrate features such as an emphasis on materiality, the tactility of matter, a rhythm or repetition of motif. Together they form a dialogue about the ways artists use play to open up new avenues or ways of working, on the journey to create resolved pieces.
Key dates
Application deadline 30 April 2023 extended until Midnight Monday 8 May!
Exhibition 27 June - 2 July 2023 (installation Monday 26 June)
Type of work
All media welcome. Work must be presented professionally.
Eligibility
Artists must live or work within a 1 mile radius of Brockley Train Station.
Artists must be aged 18 years or over.
How to apply
Please email the team at brockleyopen@gmail.com if you would like to apply and we will send you the form. There is a £10 application fee cover Brockley Open Studios administrative costs.
This should be a fantastic opportunity to showcase art in a gallery type space - look at our exhibitions page on the Brockley Open Studios website to look at details of our forthcoming exhibition 'A New Focus: Bodies' at the Pop Up Shop 25-30 April 2023.
We look forward to hearing from you…
