THE MEWS POTTERY

The Mews Pottery is a collaborative ceramics studio run by Ric Comline and Kay Minchington, producing handmade stoneware in Brockley, South East London. Their practice balances functional craftsmanship with artistic exploration, and they have actively engaged with the local community through events including Brockley Open Studios, Open House London, and the Catford Arts Trail.

Ric, a Goldsmiths Fine Art graduate with an MA in Philosophy, creates wheel-thrown stoneware that ranges from everyday functional ware to larger sculptural pieces, using the surface as a space for expressive glaze experimentation. Kay, who studied Fine Art at Ravensbourne, similarly combines hand-built and functional ceramics, moving between coiled forms and refined domestic ware, and has developed a strong commission-based practice through local exhibitions and fairs.

Together, their work reflects a shared commitment to material exploration, thoughtful making, and an ongoing dialogue between form, function, and surface.
